COVID-19 and Me

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of:

  • New continuous cough and/or
  • High temperature/fever
  • Shortness of breath

Whether you are recovering from COVID-19 after spending time in hospital or being isolated at home, or if you have been unable to access care and support for your health condition during lockdown, the following information gives guidance on how you can manage your recovery, understand and identify the side-effects, and know when you should access further support. If you have been unwell with COVID-19, either at home or for an extended period of time in hospital, your body is likely to have lost muscle mass and strength as a result of inactivity.
