We aim to improve the quality of life for carers and the cared-for in our locality, helping carers to make the most of their life alongside their caring role and to maintain their independence.
Our team of Carers Wellbeing Workers:
We have a Carers Expert Panel to listen to and share ideas, opinions and first-hand experiences of unpaid carers. The role of a panel member is voluntary and unpaid, but it is an opportunity have your say and shape services in Cardiff and The Vale.
Panel meetings are normally held monthly online via Zoom and last around an hour. If you are interested in taking part in future meetings, we can arrange for you to be provided with a copy of the agenda, a copy of the latest meeting minutes and a Zoom-link invitation to the next meeting.
This service covers both the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.
Our counselling service within the Vale supports unpaid carers aged 18 and above who are caring for a family member or relative with late life dementia or mental health issues.
Our service across Cardiff is open to all counselling referrals for unpaid carers aged 18 and above. We currently offer up to 10 free sessions of counselling via the telephone, virtually and/or face to face.
We run a monthly Carers Support Peer Group in Barry, for carers who live in both Cardiff and the Vale. It is an opportunity to meet informally with other carers and to discuss caring roles, hobbies and interests.
If you are a carer or you’re someone working with carers in Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan, we are here to help you.
