Women's Health Physiotherapy Postnatal Services

Women who have delivered within Cardiff & Vale are under the care of Women’s Health Physiotherapy until up to four months post natal. 

Following your pregnancy, we offer the following services:

Perineal Wound Issues
Information on perineal wound issues and how the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board can help you.

Caesarean Section
It is important to pace yourself back to normal activity after a C-Section.

It is estimated that over a third of women following childbirth will suffer from some degree of incontinence.

Pelvic Floor
The roles the pelvic floor has and exercises we can do to strengthen them.

Prolapse Advice
Strengthening your pelvic floor can help with your prolapse.

3rd & 4th Degree Tear
You will be seen within the Physiotherapy department 4-7 weeks following your delivery if you’ve had a 3rd or 4th degree tear.

Exercising correctly following the birth of your baby is vital.
