Here at Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board you might encounter a Neuro Physiotherapist in a number of situations.
If you are being discharged from hospital with ongoing rehabilitation needs, you might be seen at home by one of our Community Rehabilitation Teams.
Some of our Specialist Physiotherapists work alongside your Consultant Neurologist and a specialist team of nurses and therapists within designated condition specific teams.
You might encounter them during a clinic or another member of the team might ask them to contact you to discuss an issue and agree a plan.
Some of our Specialist Physiotherapists work in designated Outpatient Physiotherapy clinics. You can self-refer to this service. We will invite you to book a screening telephone session where a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist will discuss your needs.
The screening Physiotherapist will allocate you to the waiting list for the most appropriate service. Outpatient sessions can be face-to-face or virtual dependant on your requirements/preference/social distancing requirements at the time. You will agree which method is best for you during the screening call.
Some of our Specialist Physiotherapists work in the community delivering exercise and activity groups in locations around Cardiff and the Vale and promoting lifestyle changes to help you live well with long term conditions.
