Do your part whilst preparing for surgery

There are many things you can do yourself to prepare for surgery and to help your recovery afterwards. This can help to speed up your recovery and reduce the amount of time you stay in hospital.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of changes have been made to keep everyone safe. Please follow the guidance on the previous page for COVID-19 and surgery.

When you are in hospital, many of the staff and therapists will be wearing facemasks.
If you rely on lip reading for communication, please inform a member of staff as masks that allow for lip-reading can be used.
