The Psychology and Psychological Therapies Directorate provides adult counselling and psychology services throughout the Cardiff & Vale Health Board, including Primary Care (GP surgeries) in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. It is organised into a number of specialties:

  • Clinical Health and Neurosciences
  • Low Secure
  • Eating Disorders (EDSOTT and SHED)
  • Primary Care Counselling Services
  • Child Health and Learning Difficulties
  • Addictions
  • Primary Care Liaison Service (PCLS)
  • Integrated Autism Service
  • Headroom
  • Perinatal Community Mental Health Services
  • Employee Wellbeing Service

The Psychology & Psychological Directorate employs Psychologists (including both Clinical and Counselling Psychologists), Therapists, Counsellors and administrative staff.  Most of our work is in direct patient care but we also work to support staff and organisations in the Health Board.
