Wheelchair service (run by ALAS)
The Wheelchair service is an all Wales service and operates from three separate centres:
- Cardiff ALAS (on the Cardiff and Vale UHB Rookwood Hospital site and Treforest Industrial Unit Site): 02921 848100

What do we do and how can we help you with your rehabilitation?
The Welsh Artificial Limb and Appliance Service is committed to providing, and working closely with its clinical colleagues across the Welsh University Health Boards, in achieving an equipment and appliance focused rehabilitation service to people with an impairment.
ALAS’s objective is to work with the individual referred to them, to maximise ability and minimise disability.
When we assess someone, we will work with the person to identify which equipment best meets their needs, and which they can safely use to its best potential.
Referral is by means of a GP/Clinical Specialist Service referral.
