Occupational Therapy within Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Services
The Occupational Therapy Team at Hafan Y Coed in Llandough consists of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Technicians who support you if you are an inpatient in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit or Adult Acute Mental Health Services.
What is the role of Occupational Therapists in Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Services?
The occupational therapists will
- work with you to set goals to help you re-engage in occupations that are meaningful to you
- review your current abilities and goals, after working with the team, to find out if you need further support after being in our services
- reach out to our rehabilitation services or our community teams if you need further support to help you to continue to work towards your goals after you are discharged from us.
Referrals
Referrals can be made to Occupational Therapy staff working in acute services by ward staff working with patients and in ward meetings. If you are open to a community mental health team, staff involved can also contact the Occupational Therapy staff to discuss assessment needs.
