What does Cardiff and Vale offer?
The Paediatric Physiotherapy service will be involved with children primarily in a community or outpatient setting, but sometimes in the hospital if required. Episodes of care will be offered to support children to regain full function and activity levels. The physiotherapy service will also offer pacing advice and education around the management of these conditions.
Close support is provided by the specialist Paediatric Rheumatology Physiotherapist based in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
How to access our service
Due to the wide variety of conditions managed under the Paediatric Rheumatology service your child should first be seen by their GP and a local paediatrician. If appropriate, these health care professionals will refer into the service.
If you have concerns about your child, please attend your GP, local A&E or discuss with their paediatrician as appropriate for further advice and guidance.
