Hand Pain or Weakness Affecting Everyday Activity

If you have been unwell, particularly if you have spent an extended period of time in hospital, your hands and wrists may have become weak, painful or stiff. These issues can make it very difficult to complete everyday tasks such as getting dressed, washing and cooking. 

The following information and videos may help with your hands and wrists, and make completing everyday tasks more achievable. Theses exercise can be completed a few times a day or as your pain or fatigue allows.

This advice has been designed to provide you with self-management strategies. If you would like further Occupational Therapy hand therapy input, please contact your GP and they can refer you to our team.
