Call in and visit our free Health and Wellbeing Fayre for the whole community of Southwest Cardiff on Monday 13th May 2024, 11am – 5pm at Western Leisure Centre, CF5 5HJ.

This free event has been organised by the GP practices in the Southwest of Cardiff alongside Cardiff & Vale Physiotherapy service and in partnership with Race Equality First. 

Please come along to our free event at Western Leisure Centre where you can meet those involved in providing local services from health, leisure and the community and find out about local support to improve your physical and mental health and wellbeing. 

Chat to members of your community who use these services and find out how being more actively involved in your community can improve your physical and mental health.

Get health checks and advice from health professionals.

We are running both information sharing and practical workshops throughout the day which are also free to attend.

How do you know when your voice is not healthy? Has your voice become hoarse or raspy? Have you lost your ability to hit some high notes when singing? Does your voice suddenly sound deeper? Does your throat often feel raw, achy, or strained? Has it become an effort to talk? Do you find yourself repeatedly clearing your throat? If so come and see us for advice.

We are a 2 year ‘Test & Learn’ National Lottery Community Funded Project called Community-Led Care: Solutions to social care issues, that aims to engage the communities of Ely and Caerau in co-productive discussions, events, groups & activities that can provide ‘community care’ in a person centred & holistic way. Carers Club is a group formed as a result of the project, where Unpaid Carers/Ex-Carers can meet in person for peer support.

Age Friendly Cardiff is a network of organisations including Cardiff Council, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, South Wales Police, third sector partners and other services, dedicated to making the city a better place for people to grow older.

AP Cymru are striving to create a neuro-inclusive world for children, young people and their families by providing a toolkit of guidance, knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity through authentic lived-experience. Cardiff City FC Community Foundation are the community arm and official charity of Cardiff City Football Club. We run a wide range of educational and community programmes and have several Health and Wellbeing offers for people of all ages, ability levels and backgrounds.

Would you like to become a volunteer dog walker for Cardiff Dogs Home?

Connecting, facilitating and promoting programmes to increase physical activity levels for the least active groups across Cardiff. Including interventions and programmes that actively seek to reduce gaps in participation, to improve health and wellbeing amongst least active groups.

 The Cardiff Wellbeing Support Service seeks to boost a participant’s health and wellbeing by helping them become more active and engaged in their community. We provide short term, one-to-one mentoring by our own Health and Wellbeing Mentors to those that need it and help them to access the right support they need. We support participants to access advice, activities, events, training opportunities and any other support to help meet their wellbeing needs. The activities can be whatever appeals and interests the participant, such as lunch clubs, social clubs, digital sessions, gardening clubs, singing groups, litter picks, yoga, meditation, volunteering, healthy cooking groups and much more, helping people to make new friends along the way.

Care & Repair Cardiff and the Vale are a charity whose mission is to support older people to repair, adapt and maintain their homes. Our vision is that all older people are able to live in safe, secure, warm and comfortable homes which suit them and their lives and maximises their independence.

FAN Groups bring people together from around the corner and around the world in a spirit of friendship. If you are learning English FAN Groups are a great place to practise your new skills.

The Live Well Rehabilitation Service helps support individuals living and managing a number of physical long term conditions. One population the service support are those individuals reporting symptoms that are difficult to see such as fatigue, brain fog, breathlessness and distress at managing the effect of physical difficulties.

St Vincent’s Ely Bridge support centre brings together many different groups and activities. We have cuppa and natter groups, men changing lives group, beyond difference group as well as boxing, well being Walks and personal gym session. All in a place of safety and respect.

Physiotherapy led clinic offering virtual and face to face consultation for individuals aged 50 or above who have had a fall, who feel at risk of a fall or, who feel they need advice on how to maintain their strength and balance as they get older. We aim to assess your falls risk and provide advice to reduce these risks.
