COVID-19 and Dizziness

There is some evidence to suggest that some patients can experience dizziness as part of their COVID-19 symptoms. Sometimes if you have previously been unwell with vertigo, even if it was many years ago, these symptoms can recur when the body is stressed with fighting infection.

The Ménière’s Society website provides further information about many types of
dizziness and balance disorders, and details gentle exercises that can help
with managing and controlling dizziness symptoms.

Should this dizziness persist, and stop you from pursuing your health goals, you may benefit from asking your healthcare provider to refer you to the balance team within the department of Audiovestibular Medicine, where your dizziness can be investigated further.
