Keeping Me Well - Cardiff and Vale University Hospital

Hand Therapy

The Hand Therapy Team in Cardiff includes Consultants, Occupational Therapists and a Physiotherapist.

The team treat patients who’ve had an accident/injury or a condition that affects the hand.

Group of adults

We have two therapy sites, based at Cardiff Royal Infirmary and University Hospital Llandough.

Sometimes we can experience weakness of the hands especially as we get older. There are some things that we can do to help ourselves. Exercises and gently strengthening has been shown to keep our muscles active and strong. Why not try the videos below to see if these help.

If you have any specific concerns – or the exercises don’t help you, it might be worth discussing with your GP and they may refer you to our team for more specific advice.
