The Hand Therapy Team in Cardiff includes Consultants, Occupational Therapists and a Physiotherapist.
The team treat patients who’ve had an accident/injury or a condition that affects the hand.
We have two therapy sites, based at Cardiff Royal Infirmary and University Hospital Llandough.
Sometimes we can experience weakness of the hands especially as we get older. There are some things that we can do to help ourselves. Exercises and gently strengthening has been shown to keep our muscles active and strong. Why not try the videos below to see if these help.
If you have any specific concerns – or the exercises don’t help you, it might be worth discussing with your GP and they may refer you to our team for more specific advice.
Below are a range of common difficulties for our patients and ways to manage these. Click on the ones which apply to you:
Should you require a formal assessment, please make an appointment with your GP in order to be referred to our team.
We’re currently working to improve the Keeping Me Well website. If you’d like to help us make this site a better, more helpful experience for you, please take a few minutes to let us know what improvements you’d like to see.
