The trauma physiotherapy service at UHW works with patients who are in hospital following a trauma resulting in many types of injury including: fractures of bones, injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. The trauma physiotherapists work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to rehabilitate patients to a level where they are able to go home.

Once you are discharged home it is important that you continue to follow the instructions and exercises given to you by your physiotherapist in hospital.
You may be referred on for other types of physiotherapy to continue your rehabilitation. You may have physiotherapy at home or may be referred on-to musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy. If you have not been referred for further physiotherapy, this will be reviewed when you attend your trauma clinic appointment.
